In addition to providing P&I cover for small craft trading on Europe's waterways, the club also insures a number of members engaged in coastal and short sea trade across Europe. It also operates in a wide range of activities, including offshore supply, harbour towage, fishing, passenger ships, tugs, pushboats and barges. The club has special knowledge and expertise in the underwriting of small ships.
A number of specific legal and contractual regimes apply to ships involved in towage, harbour and inland cargo carriage. The cover provided to such ships is similar to that given to ocean-going tonnage; the main difference is that cover can be tailored to respond to the specific legal liability regimes which operate in domestic and inland waterways.
